Energy Affordability Program

You may qualify for a discount on your monthly energy bill if you receive benefits from an eligible governmental assistance program.

Starting in early 2026, even more people could be eligible, including New Yorkers with household incomes up to the area median who are not currently enrolled in government assistance programs.

Helping More New Yorkers Manage Energy Costs

Like you, we live and work here, and we depend on reliable power. Keeping the grid resilient takes continuous investments. But we also recognize that the rising cost of living makes energy affordability more important than ever.

That’s why we advocated to expand eligibility for our Energy Affordability Program, so even more New Yorkers could be eligible to receive discounts on their energy bills.

Eligibility and application requirements are being finalized. Please visit this page regularly for updates and get ready to apply starting in early 2026.
