About Geothermal Heat Pumps

Geothermal (also known as ground source) heat pumps transfer heat stored in the earth into your building during the winter and transfer it back into the ground during the summer. These systems can also be configured to provide your building with domestic hot water.

Geothermal Heat Pump Incentives

Geothermal heat pumps transfer heat into your building during cold winter months and then remove heat during summer to keep your space cool.

Incentives will be capped at $1 million per project or 50% of project costs, whichever is lower.

Thermal Conductivity Testing Incentives

Thermal conductivity testing is used to determine the thermal properties of the subsurface prior to the final design and installation of large geothermal heat pump systems.

Prospective geothermal heat pump projects may be eligible to receive a thermal conductivity testing incentive of up to $40,000, or 50% of applicable project costs, whichever is lower. The recipient must be eligible for Con Edison Clean Heat program incentives.
