Con Edison Crews Restore Service to Queens Customers

Company Reminds Customers to Report Outages

Con Edison has restored service to 5,007 customers in the Middle Village area of Queens who were impacted by an outage that occurred at approximately 1 a.m.

Crews restored power to the impacted customers by 4:30 a.m.

The areas affected by the outage were bounded by 54th Avenue to the north, 62nd Road to the south, 82nd Street to the east, and 68th Street to the west.

The outage was likely caused by a failure of overhead electric delivery equipment caused by road salt making contact with overhead wires. Our crews respond 24/7 to restore service to customers as quickly and safely as possible, repairing damage caused when snow and road salt mix.

Customers can sign up for text alerts by texting REG to 688-243 and following the prompts. Customers can also report outages and check service restoration status at conEd.com/reportoutage, with Con Edison’s mobile app for iOS or Android devices, or by calling 1-800-752-6633.

Customers who report outages will receive updates from Con Edison with their estimated restoration times as they become available. Information on outages and restoration times is also available at the Con Edison outage map.
