Con Edison Honored For Green Leadership By Queens Environmental Center

Con Edison was awarded the Corporate Green Leadership award from the Alley Pond Environmental Center (APEC) at the nonprofit’s 50th Anniversary Green Gala in Queens.

Gregory Elcock, Con Edison’s director of Energy Efficiency and Demand Management, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“Con Edison shares the Alley Pond Environmental Center’s commitment to educating and informing our communities about the climate crisis,” said Elcock. “We are thankful for the recognition and proud to be APEC’s first ever Corporate Green Leadership honoree.”

“This year at our 50th Anniversary Gala we wanted to pay tribute to a corporation that has supported us through these years and played a significant role in our success,” said Irene V. Scheid, executive director of the Alley Pond Environmental Center. “Con Edison has been that one corporation that has consistently supported APEC since the early days through contributions, board membership, technical support and guidance.”

The Alley Pond Environmental Center is a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to educating children and adults in the New York metropolitan area, protecting and preserving Alley Pond Park, open spaces and waterbodies, and advocating for sustainable environmental policies and practices.
