Demand Management Incentives for Large Customers

Help us lower our peak load on the hottest days and we’ll give you financial incentives to manage your energy use and save money.

Our Demand Management Program is open to Con Edison and New York Power Authority customers in New York City and Westchester

Eligibility Requirements

  • Projects must reduce at least 1 kW. Refer to the Application and the Technical Data Requirements for more information.
  • Projects cannot start construction and existing equipment cannot be disconnected until completion of a pre-installation inspection

Project Funding

Funding is still available for projects that will be completed in 2018.

For 2019 and beyond, we have extended installation deadlines, raised incentives for many measures, and introduced a bonus payment. To qualify for the bonus payment, you must apply by June 30 of the same year as the installation deadline, but not more than 17 months ahead of the deadline. Projects that do not meet the installation deadlines will still get paid an incentive, but will not receive the bonus payment. All projects must be installed within two years of being awarded an incentive to qualify for any incentive payment.

Applicants are not required to post a cash collateral.

Incentives

All incentives will be capped at the levels listed based on kW estimates determined by Con Edison.

For a limited time, battery project developers will be eligible for additional incentives to help offset the costs of obtaining UL certifications and completing 9540A testing. Find details in Appendix 2 of the 2019 Technical Data Requirements.
