Con Edison’s Ana Bolivar Receives ASPIRA Award

Con Edison project manager Ana Bolivar received an award from ASPIRA of New York for her service within the Latino community at the organization’s 2021 Virtual Circle of Achievers Gala, an event that, for the second time in the organization’s 60-year history, was held virtually last evening beginning at 5 p.m. due to Covid-19.

Bolivar, an instrumental figure in Con Edison’s Information Technology Project Management Office, is involved in CLARO, Con Edison’s Hispanic-employee resource group, and also with El Centro Hispano of White Plains, an organization providing services and support to Hispanic families.

“Ana’s a great person, demonstrating excellence and leadership in her work, with a willingness to always ensure the right thing is done for the customer, and by extension, for the company,” said Jenny Brito, Con Edison’s director in the company’s Office of the CIO. “Her contributions outside the organization extend to the communities we serve, and they include giving back to associations that helped her when she first came to this country from Colombia. Anyone would be extraordinarily fortunate to have someone like her as a part of their team.”

ASPIRA of New York has been at the forefront of providing educational and leadership development opportunities to Latino youth since 1961. Their mission is to foster social advancement within the Latino community by supporting young people pursuing educational excellence through leadership development activities and programs.

The annual Circle of Achievers event raises funds, recognizes corporate achievers, and also awards college scholarships to ASPIRA students.

Bolivar, who holds a master’s degree in Communications and Media Studies from Pace University and a Bachelor of Engineering degree from City College of New York, has held a variety of increasingly important positions during her 13-year tenure at Con Edison, including roles in Gas Operations and Emergency Preparedness. She also assisted with Hurricane Maria restoration efforts in Puerto Rico.

Con Edison is a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc. [NYSE: ED], one of the nation's largest investor-owned energy companies, with approximately $12 billion in annual revenues and $63 billion in assets. The utility provides electric, gas and steam service to more than three million customers in New York City and Westchester County, New York.
