Distributed Energy Resources Make-Ready Incentive
Receive incentives to cover all, or a portion of, utility-side upgrade costs for installing DER, such as solar and/or an energy storage system, that will benefit income-eligible customers.
You’ll be eligible for incentives after you complete the Coordinated Electric System Interconnection Review (CESIR) process. Incentives are capped at maximum dollar amount in three categories:

Eligibility Criteria
Your installation must:
- Be a non-community distributed generation (CDG) project
- Include solar and/or an energy storage system
- Meet the Affordable Multifamily Energy Efficiency Eligibility Criteria
- Attain permission to operate (PTO) by 2026
How to Apply:
- Email us to determine eligibility before submitting an application in PowerClerk. Please include the required documents. If you’ve already submitted an application, proceed to Step 2.
- Apply for the program by accessing the DER Make Ready Application Form in PowerClerk.
- Once your CESIR study is complete, you’ll be sent a Program Agreement.
Once signed, we’ll connect you with experts from Con Edison, the New York State Predevelopment Affordable Solar and Storage Predevelopment Technical Assistance Program, and NYC Accelerator Program who will support you through the installation process.
