Electric Advantage Frequently Asked Questions

The Electric Advantage Program is an all-electric building service offered by Con Edison to customers on natural gas mains that are due for replacement. If you opt for program upgrades instead of future use of natural gas, you will receive a full suite of upgrades to get your all-electric building up and running at no cost to you.
Only Con Edison customers who have received an invitation code are eligible to participate. If you can’t find your invitation code, please complete our pre-qualification form. A program coordinator will reach out to you within three business days to confirm your eligibility.
See the products and services included as part of the Electric Advantage Program. Our team will help you design your all-electric system, oversee the installation, and provide an 18-month warranty on labor and materials.
Your upgrades are free when using Con Edison’s pre-approved equipment and team to complete the installation. The offer includes electric appliances selected for their quality and efficiency and optional weatherization measures for optimum performance and comfort.

 Please let your program coordinator know about your interest in customizing your upgrades and the program team will work with you to coordinate their cost-share responsibilities.

Yes. If you want to pair Electric Advantage Program upgrades with a substantial renovation, your design professional can serve as the project manager for both. Our program team will work with your design professional to assess and coordinate the project completion date and cost-share responsibilities.
Your Electric Advantage Program upgrades will be completed by experienced program coordinators who have extensive track records completing all-electric projects for Con Edison customers. Centsible House manages upgrades to 1–4 single-family properties, and MaGrann Associates manages multifamily and commercial properties. They work with an experienced team of specialty trades, including Clean Heat HVAC and insulation contractors, master plumbers and electricians, and environmental remediators. Together, they work swiftly to complete your upgrades between two-four working weeks.

For those using an independent design professional, the work may be contracted out to subcontractors. The program team will verify the subcontractor licenses to perform work at the installation location. Note: All the terms and conditions available to participants of the Electric Advantage Program may not be applicable.
Please respond within 30 days of receiving your invitation code and we will work to schedule the project at your convenience, before your gas main is scheduled to be replaced. Applications are processed on a first-come-first-served basis before your natural gas main is replaced.
Your participation could be delayed or denied because:
1) Neighbors who share your natural gas main have declined or not yet accepted the offer, or;
2) Your building has substantial structure issues that need to be repaired before work can begin.
Your coordinator will propose other options if you’re ineligible.
