The annual scholarship awards encourage mature women overcoming adversity to fulfill their potential through the pursuit of an undergraduate college education and community service.
Foundation for Ethnic Understanding
The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding promotes racial harmony and strengthens intergroup relations by encouraging face-to-face dialogue between leaders of ethnic communities. A proud partner since 1991, Con Edison currently supports the foundation’s efforts to fight Islamophobia and extremism, including the “#Muslims Are Speaking Out” social media campaign.
Jericho Project
Con Edison’s support for Jericho’s Employment Program provides employment and housing placement services for veterans returning to New York City from conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
New York City LGBT Historic Sites Project
Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals and communities have profoundly influenced and contributed to the history and culture of both New York City and the country. With Con Edison’s support, the New York City LGBT Historic Sites Project is producing an interactive website and map of LGBT sites from the earliest history of New York City through 2000.
