Gas Crews from Con Edison and Orange & Rockland Utilities Join Mutual Aid Efforts in Massachusetts

Approximately 50 field personnel who work in Gas Operations for Con Edison and Orange & Rockland Utilities are joining a mutual aid effort to help with safety and response to last night’s natural gas fires north of Boston.

Mutual aid crews will assist with turning off approximately 8,600 gas meters, a step necessary before gas can be restored to pipelines serving the affected neighborhoods. Con Edison and O&R personnel are expected to start arriving tonight.
