Variable Refrigerant Flow System
Make your business or commercial building more efficient with clean, heating and cooling technology. With thousands in rebates available, it’s never been easier—or more affordable—to make the switch.
How it Works
Variable refrigerant flow (VRF) uses heat pump technology to circulate refrigerant to one or multiple indoor units, allowing for simultaneous heating and cooling in different zones and personalized comfort control.
By using refrigerant to move heat throughout a building, as opposed to water or air, and adjusting the flow of refrigerant continually based on the energy needs of each indoor unit, VRF systems operate more efficiently than traditional HVAC systems.
- Uses energy more effectively. Heat pumps concentrate and transfer heat rather than generating it directly, delivering one-and-a-half to three times more heat energy to a building than the electrical energy they consume.
- Dual heat-and-cooling system
- Reduced maintenance costs
- Whisper quiet
- Lower carbon emissions
- Easy to operate
Ready to save?
Find a participating contractor in the New York State Clean Heat Program. Your contractor will help find and install your heat pump, and deduct your rebate from the total project cost.
Get Custom Incentives for Your VRF System
VRF projects qualify for our custom incentive––$200 per MMBtu of net energy reduced. Have your custom project evaluated and see how much you can save.
If your building is in the area affected by the Westchester natural gas moratorium, you can receive an incentive increase of 30% above the current incentive rates. Category 9 projects (simultaneous installation of space heating water heating) are not eligible for additional rebates.
