Con Edison Sponsoring 2014 New York Energy Week
Opening Ceremony at Company Headquarters -- Con Edison is a top sponsor of New York Energy Week, the annual event series created by EnerKnol to bring together experts from diverse sectors for discussions of the state’s energy future.
"Con Edison – a “terawatt” sponsor – will host the Opening Ceremony June 16 at its headquarters at 4 Irving Place in Manhattan. John McAvoy, the company’s chairman, president and CEO, will deliver the welcoming remarks.
“We work every day to help our customers use energy efficiently, keep the environment clean and maintain the reliable service New Yorkers need,” McAvoy said. “Energy Week is a great opportunity for us to have a give and take with top experts about the important energy challenges facing our state.”
After his opening remarks, McAvoy will participate in a panel discussion about Reforming Energy Vision, regulations the State Public Service Commission is considering to change the way electricity is distributed and used.
PSC Chair Audrey Zibelman, Gil Quiniones, president and CEO of the New York Power Authority, and John Rhodes, president and CEO of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, will be among the panelists.
Other panelists will be Alfred Griffin, president of the New York Green Bank, Angelique Mercurio, founder and CEO of EnerKnol, and Kenneth D. Daly, president of National Grid.
