Steam Valve Safety - A reminder about the inside service valve in your building.

Dear Steam Customer,

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you about the safe operation of the inside service valve in your building. Proper operation of this valve is extremely important to assure safety.

A wire seal and warning tag have been installed on this valve to discourage operation for any reason other than emergencies. This seal is inspected on a periodic basis to insure that the valve has not been operated without our knowledge.

If the valve is closed, for any reason, you must notify us immediately by calling 1-212-683-8830, or Con Edison's toll free number at 1-800-914-9112. Do not open this valve. We will dispatch a crew to safely energize your system.

For your convenience, when our records show that you have several properties that use our steam service, we have enclosed a list of these properties. If you would like a copy of this letter sent to each individual property, please notify Marlon Lewis (email Lewism@coned.com, fax 1-212-460-3639).
