Steam Repair Services — PDF format
Con Edison is now able to offer you steam repair service on your equipment. Our services include flange, piping, and trap repairs, as well as valve and gasket replacements.
Steam repair is offered for the special services discussed here. The charge for each service is inclusive of the cost of materials, handling, and labor. Con Edison has the right to refuse a job if conditions are found to be unsafe, hazardous, or beyond our capabilities.

Investigation: When Con Edison Steam Distribution Services visits a customer’s premises at their request to determine that there is a problem with the customer’s piping and/or equipment. |

At the customer’s request, if Con Edison Steam agrees to perform a service other than those described above, the customer will be charged for the following:

Materials Charge: Materials at fair market price, plus sales tax and 14.5% for handling, plus the applicable percentage increase in rates and charges. |

B. |
Labor Charge: An hourly rate per employee of $121 during the day from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and an hourly rate of $140 at all other times. Sales taxes will be added where applicable and labor hours will be inclusive of travel time. |
The charges listed here will be reflected on your next monthly bill following the repairs.
Con Edison Steam Distribution Services will guarantee our work for 90 days, except for the repair of valve packing leaks and leaks that have damaged the sealing surfaces of the components being repaired.
