Con Edison Initial Comments on PSC Staff Report on LIC Outage Con Edison has submitted initial comments on the draft PSC staff report on last summer’s outage in northwest Queens. Our performance during the event did not meet the expectations of our customers and the expectations we have set for ourselves. We are learning from this episode, and are implementing improvements in our infrastructure, equipment, processes, and procedures. These include improvements in our substations circuit breakers and relays; transformer monitoring systems; operational procedures; communication tools and processes; customer counting methods; demand reductions efforts and emergency response plans. We look forward to an ongoing and constructive dialogue with city and state officials, as well as other parties, and will take every step necessary to avoid a recurrence of this type of event.
