CON EDISON REDUCES VOLTAGE 5 PERCENT IN WEST BRONX, RANDALL'S ISLAND

OK to Use Air Conditioning and Other Appliances

NEW YORK – Con Edison has reduced voltage by 5 percent in some neighborhoods of the West Bronx and on Randall's Island while crews make repairs to electrical cables.

The West Bronx neighborhoods are: Bathgate, Claremont Village, Concourse Village, Highbridge, The Hub, Melrose, Morrisania and Port Morris.

The company is not asking customers in those areas to take any special conservation measures at this time. The voltage reduction is a precaution while repairs are made.

Customers can report power interruptions or service problems, view service restoration information and the outage map online at www.conEd.com, as well as on their mobile devices. They also may call 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633) promptly if they are experiencing any service difficulties. When reporting an outage, customers should have their Con Edison account number available, if possible, and report whether their neighbors also have lost power. Customers who report outages will be called by Con Edison with their estimated restoration times as they become available.
