CON EDISON REDUCES VOLTAGE 5 PERCENT IN
SOME SOUTH BROOKLYN NEIGHBORHOODS
OK to Use Air Conditioning and Other Appliances
NEW YORK – Con Edison has reduced voltage by 5 percent in certain Brooklyn neighborhoods while repairs are being made to company equipment serving those areas.
The company is not asking customers in those areas to take any special measures at this time. The 5-percent voltage reduction is a precaution while repairs are made.
The voltage-reduction neighborhoods include: Midwood, Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, Sheepshead Bay, Marine Park, Gerritsen Beach, Flatbush and East Flatbush.
Customers can report power interruptions or service problems, view service restoration information and the outage map online at www.conEd.com, as well as on their mobile devices. They also may call 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633) promptly if they are experiencing any service difficulties. When reporting an outage, customers should have their Con Edison account number available, if possible, and report whether their neighbors also have lost power. Customers who report outages will be called by Con Edison with their estimated restoration times as they become available.
