CON EDISON REDUCES VOLTAGE 5 PERCENT IN SOME BRONX & MANHATTAN NEIGHBORHOODS

OK to Use Air Conditioning and Other Appliances

NEW YORK – Con Edison is implementing five percent voltage reduction in some areas of the Bronx and Manhattan while crews make repairs to electrical equipment. The areas include Riverdale, Marble Hill, Kingsbridge and Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx; and Inwood and Washington Heights in Manhattan.

Con Edison is not asking residents in those neighborhoods to take any special conservation measures at this time. The five percent voltage reduction was done as a precaution while repairs are made to equipment serving those communities.

Customers can report power interruptions or service problems, view service restoration information and the outage map online at www.conEd.com, as well as on their mobile devices. They also may call 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633) promptly if they are experiencing any service difficulties. When reporting an outage, customers should have their Con Edison account number available, if possible, and report whether their neighbors also have lost power. Customers who report outages will be called by Con Edison with their estimated restoration times as they become available.
