CON EDISON GREEN TEAM HELPS MAMARONECK HOUSING AUTHORITY SAVE ENERGY AND CA$H

Housing Authority Participates in Energy Efficiency Multi-Family Program

NEW YORK – The Con Edison Green Team today presented a $23,000 rebate check to the Town of Mamaroneck Housing Authority for installing high efficiency heating equipment in their buildings

Through Con Edison's Multi-Family Gas Efficiency program, the Housing Authority installed nine high efficiency boilers, resulting in annual savings of $2,100 and 1,500 therms.

"The Mamaroneck Housing Authority is pleased to have the support of Con Edison," said Richard Cherry, Chair of the Housing Authority Board. "As an Authority, it is our purpose to provide affordable housing, and since tenants at Hommocks pay for their own heat, providing highly efficient boilers is not only good for the environment but also helps the residents pay for food and clothing. It's great to have Con Ed as a partner in this effort."

"We want to help multi-family building owners develop a plan that will help them to cut energy costs while maintaining the comfort of their building," said Greg Elcock, Con Edison's Multi-Family Energy Efficiency program manager.

The Con Edison Green Team has distributed over $1 million in incentives to multi-family building owners participating in the Gas Efficiency program.

The program provides funding to the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and the Westchester County Housing Authorities (WCHA) for rebates of up to 100 percent of the incremental cost of qualifying cost-effective high efficiency gas heating equipment, such as boilers and furnaces. The program also provides up to 100 percent of the installed cost for other eligible measures, such as building weatherization.

The Con Edison Green Team has a program available for everyone. To find out which program is right for you, visit www.conEd.com/greenteam or call the Con Edison Green Team at 1-877-870-6118.
