“Con Edison is a major supporter of neighborhood environmental efforts. We recycle our used equipment, field materials and office electronics,” said Randolph S. Price, vice president for Environment, Health and Safety at Con Edison. “The ’Spring Cleaning’ day will help New Yorkers reduce waste by making it easy for them to recycle out-of-date, used electronics in an environmentally safe and responsible manner." This “Spring Cleaning” recycling event encourages city residents to turn in their unwanted electronics, such as working and non-working computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, televisions, VCRs, copiers and cell phones. E-waste contains hazardous materials that, if not disposed of properly, can harm the environment. Recycling e-waste is a proactive approach on an important environmental issue. Con Edison is a Dow Jones Sustainability Index company, and has been recognized for its environmental performance by the global Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy and other organizations.
