ARE YOU A FAN OF THE POWER OF GREEN?

CON EDISON LAUNCHES “GREEN” FACEBOOK PAGE

NEW YORK – Facebook fanatics have a new, fun way to learn about all they can do to “go green.”  Looking to expand the ways of reaching its customers, Con Edison has a new Power of Green page on Facebook.

Fans can learn about energy-saving tips, exciting “green” events that Con Edison is sponsoring, and -- everyone’s idea of green power -- how to save money on their bill.  Fans can see a video of Con Edison’s new electric car, sign up for a free programmable thermostat, and learn how to get their homes ready for summer.  The site also links to the company’s official Power of Green page.  

“As the social media world expands, millions of people are turning to Facebook as a trove of information. This is a great way to connect one-on-one with our customers as well as fans from India to Los Angeles,” said Frances A. Resheske, senior vice president of Public Affairs.  “Our Facebook page shows visitors how to put green concepts into practice through a new medium.”

To become a fan, log in on Facebook and search for Power of Green.

Con Edison’s The Power of Green site, http://www.coned.com/thepowerofgreen/index.asp, provides news about the company’s environmental efforts as well as links to information about renewable energy and green power. Visitors can also go to Con Edison’s home page at www.coned.com and select The Power of Green.
