CON EDISON AND LOWER EAST SIDE ECOLOGY CENTER DIG INTO RECYCLING EVENT
Give Your Old Mouse, VCRs the Boot
NEW YORK –Con Edison has joined the Lower East Side Ecology Center (LESEC) to sponsor an electronic recycling event at the New York Hall of Science in Corona, Queens on Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Monday, August 4, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This electronic recycling event encourages city residents to turn in unwanted e-waste. Computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, televisions, VCRs, copiers, and cell phones are common electronic waste or e-waste.
For more information about the event and what will be accepted, visit www.lesecologycenter.org or call 1-212-477-4022.
E-waste contains materials that can be hazardous if not disposed of properly and recycling them helps protect landfills from electronics waste. Recycling e-waste is a proactive approach to an important environmental issue.
Con Edison’s partnership with the LESEC is one part of its comprehensive environmental initiatives through EnergyNY, the company's recently announced plan to meet the future energy needs of its customers through infrastructure upgrades and energy efficiency programs. EnergyNY can be viewed at www.conEd.com/energyny.
