CON EDISON STEAM EMPLOYEES PRESENT TOYS FOR TOTS AT NEWYORK-PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL/WEILL CORNELL MEDICAL CENTER

NEW YORK – Employees from Con Edison’s Steam Operations brought some holiday cheer to children at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center today, delivering over130 toys and gifts donated by company employees.

"Toys for Tots is a wonderful way to touch the lives of children during the holiday season," said Saumil Shukla, Con Edison's vice president of Steam Operations. “Every year our employees collect hundreds of toys while looking forward to days like this one, when we can bring some happiness and comfort to the children in our communities."

This is the seventh year that Con Edison has joined the United States Marine Corps in the Toys for Tots program. Established by Major Bill Hendricks in Los Angeles in 1947, this program expanded nationally as a community action project. Today, Marines and volunteers collect and distribute nearly 14 million toys in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa.

Con Edison is a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc. [NYSE: ED], one of the nation’s largest investor-owned energy companies, with approximately $12 billion in annual revenues and $28 billion in assets.  The utility provides electric, gas and steam service to more than 3 million customers in New York City and Westchester County, New York.  For additional financial, operations and customer service information, visit Con Edison’s Web site at www.coned.com.
