CON EDISON EMPLOYEE TO BE HONORED AT THE UNITED NATIONS

NEW YORK – Con Edison announced today that Wilton Cedeno, director of Information Resources and a 21-year company veteran, has been selected to receive a 2007 Defining Trends in Latino Culture (DTM) Trendsetter Award on Monday, November 5, at the United Nations.

The DTM ceremony salutes 17 other honorees from major corporations across the country, as well as seven DTM youth scholarship recipients. The DTM award recognizes leaders who hold themselves to the highest of standards and best define the elements of America’s Latino experience.

“Having a proven leader like Wilton in our Information Resources department has been a tremendous value to our organization,” said William Tesi, Con Edison’s director, application services. “His experience and expertise is exemplary. His receipt of the DTM award is well deserved.”

Cedeno is responsible for the company’s information systems for gas operations, power plants, substations, engineering, and risk management.  He previously served as general manager for Staten Island Electric Operations, where he managed the construction, maintenance, operation and restoration of the electrical distribution system. Cedeno also served as a plant manager of Con Edison’s Hudson Avenue generating station in Brooklyn, and as a senior system operator in charge of operating the City’s transmission and distribution system.

Wilton has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University, and is a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, and is a board member of its alumni foundation. Cedeno is currently Chairman of the National Board of Directors to the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE), and is an active member and past president of the New York Metro Chapter. He is also founder of the Cooperative Technical High School Intern Program, which enables high school students to work at Con Edison.

He is also a recipient of Con Edison’s Team Award, and the Living Our Values Award, the highest honor awarded by the company.

Con Edison is a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc. [NYSE: ED], one of the nation’s largest investor-owned energy companies, with approximately $12 billion in annual revenues and $27 billion in assets.
