CUSTOMER SERVICE VAN RELOCATES

CON EDISON ASSISTING PEOPLE AFTER STEAM RUPTURE

NEW YORK – Con Edison’s outreach van, which has been assisting customers since the July 18 steam-main incident, will be relocated to 14 W. 30th Street between Fifth Avenue and Broadway starting Monday, August 6.  It will be open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Con Edison customer operations’ specialists will be available to distribute claim forms and to accept clothing affected by the steam-main incident.

The company is advising people who were near Lexington Avenue and 41st Street at 6 p.m. on July 18 and had dust or debris on their clothing and belongings to put them in a plastic bag and bring them to the customer service vans. Con Edison will arrange for the safe disposal of these items. Customer care personnel will be available to help people fill out a reimbursement request. For information about asbestos, please see the New York City Department of Health fact sheet at http://home2.nyc.gov/html/doh/html/ei/eiasbest.shtml.

Customers wishing to file claims resulting from the incident may download claim forms by visiting the Con Edison Web site at www.conEd.com.
