Storm Flood Update


NEW YORK -- Approximately 1,100 Con Edison customers in Westchester County remain without electrical service due to flooding, with the majority of the outages located along coastal communities in Westchester County.  Con Edison crews restored approximately 300 customers today.

Safety officials from local communities, along with Con Edison crews, are inspecting homes and businesses to be certain they are safe so that utility services may be restored. Con Edison crews are restoring service only to customers who have received proper safety clearance from the appropriate jurisdiction.

Customers whose electric and gas service were terminated because of flooding conditions must have their electrical service certified as safe by a licensed electrician and their natural gas service certified as safe by a licensed plumber. Customers are advised not to go near flooded electrical equipment.
