STATEMENT FROM CON EDISON

NEW YORK – Con Edison crews are working around the clock to restore customers who lost power during the heat wave and last night's violent storms. We understand the frustrations of people who are experiencing power outages and appreciate their patience.

Hundreds of Con Edison crews have been working in very tough conditions to stabilize the electrical system in Northwest Queens. We want to thank our residential and commercial customers for their response to our appeals for conservation. We have also reached out to the business community to help further reduce power use in the area.

In addition, we have crews working in Westchester County, where 25,000 customers lost power during last night's storms. Again, we thank our customers and appreciate their assistance.
