CON EDISON RESPONDS TO POWER OUTAGES
IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY
NEW YORK – Con Edison crews are responding to power outages in sections of Westchester County caused by Tuesday night’s thunderstorm.
The company is assessing damage and estimates that approximately 25,000 customers are without power. White Plains, Yonkers, Harrison, New Rochelle, and Greenburgh are among the communities hardest hit.
Con Edison asks all customers to stay away from any downed power lines and to treat them as live wires. The company urges customers to call 1-800-75CONED to report outages and downed power lines.
Con Edison is working with municipalities to clear downed trees so that crews can make repairs safely.
The company is in contact with the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services and local police departments.
