CON EDISON CREWS WORKING AROUND THE CLOCK
TO REPAIR WESTCHESTER STORM DAMAGE
NEW YORK - Con Edison crews in Westchester County are working around
the clock to restore electricity to approximately 40,000 customers affected
by today's high winds.
Safety is Con Edison's No. 1 priority as its crews restore electrical
power to customers.
Con Edison also warns residents to avoid any downed electrical wires,
to treat any wires as live and immediately report any downed wires to
the company by calling 1-800-75-CONED.
Additional company crews were assigned to Westchester throughout Wednesday
to assist restoration in every part of the county.
Throughout the day, Con Edison worked closely with Westchester emergency management officials to safely restore service to customers.
Additional outages from the storm affected New York City, especially Staten Island, as high winds whipped over the five boroughs, toppling trees on and over electrical wires. Most customers in New York City have been restored.
