NEW YORK DEBUT OF PARISIAN'S HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA IN CENTRAL PARK
Con Edison Sponsors Unique Light Show

NEW YORK - Con Edison supports the New York premiere of the Arts Opera-Promotion of Paris' lighting of a Central Park visitor center - transforming it into a holiday gingerbread house via three projectors.

The Parisian artists will illuminate the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center on Thursday, December 13 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The center will be lighted nightly through December 29. The Boys Choir of Harlem also will perform on Thursday. The center is located inside Central Park at 110th Street, just west of Fifth Avenue. The lights will be on from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The Upper Park Partners of the Women's Committee of the Central Park Conservancy contacted Con Edison about the lighting of the center for this year's holiday lights.

“Lucette de Rugy's Arts Opera-Promotion of Paris has perfected a unique technique of projecting light images of incredible saturation and accuracy, transforming structures into magical creations unique to artistic lighting,” said Frances A. Resheske, Con Edison's vice president for public affairs. “This will be a special exhibit for all New Yorkers who enjoy Central Park.”

The Central Park lighting is Ms. de Rugy's second project in the United States. Her first was last month on the City Hall of Washington, D.C. Her work has appeared in Paris, Melbourne, Singapore and other world capitals.

Lucette de Rugy, Peter Jacobson, a Con Edison lighting specialist and Regina S. Peruggi of the Central Park Conservancy are available for interviews.
