For Immediate Release: February 26, 1997 Con Edison's Board Elects Hyman Schoenblum VP and TreasurerCon Edison's Board of Trustees has elected Hyman Schoenblum to the position of vice president and treasurer, effective March 1, 1997. In his new assignment, Schoenblum will play an important role in the financial aspects of Con Edison's restructuring efforts. He will also have overall responsibility for the company's financing, cash management, pension fund administration, risk management, and real estate. Schoenblum joined the company in 1971 and rose to the level of assistant controller, with responsibilities for rate cases, corporate budgeting and financial reporting. In 1993 he was named a director of the Corporate Planning department. He is currently the director of the company's financial restructuring team, where he has played a key role in shaping Con Edison's plan for a transition to a competitive utility industry. Schoenblum earned a master's degree in finance and a
bachelor of business administration in accounting from
Baruch College. He is on the board of various local, health-
related, community volunteer groups in Brooklyn, New York,
where he and his wife, Dinah, and their four children
reside.
