Steam System
Con Edison operates the largest district-energy steam system in the United States. The steam system provides service to approximately 1,800 customers in Manhattan, from the Battery all the way to 96th Street on the West Side and 89th Street on the East Side.

- Con Edison has five steam-generating plants, three in Manhattan, one in Queens, and one in Brooklyn, along with receiving steam under contract from a steam plant at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.
