Con Edison supports a fully competitive energy marketplace and encourages customers to choose their own energy supplier. We currently deliver energy to more than 1 million natural gas customers in New York City and Westchester.
Companies applying for authorization to become a natural gas marketer in the Con Edison territory must:

Satisfy the NY State Department of Public Service (PSC) eligibility requirements to be a Natural Gas Marketer and forward the PSC authorization letter. |

2. |
Submit to Con Edison an Application for SC 20 Transportation Receipt Service. This can be found under the section Gas Sales and Transportation Operating Procedures (GTOP). |

3. |
Complete Parts A through D of the application. Parts E though F, which relate to balancing service options and firm transportation capacity requirements, may be submitted at a subsequent date when the marketer is ready to serve prospective SC 09 customers. |

4. |
Complete EDI testing and certification requirements. All ESCO/marketers participating in Con Edison’s service territory must be tested and certified for all appropriate EDI transactions. For more information, please visit EDI Central. |

5. |
Please complete and return the PowerYourWay template, which includes marketing and contact information. |

6. |
Complete training on the Transportation Customer Information System (TCIS). TCIS Training can be scheduled during the certification process. |

Approved gas marketers can also become eligible to offer Consolidated Utility Billing (CUBS) within our service territory. To participate in our CUBS program, submit the Billing Services Agreement (BSA), the Account Clearing House (ACH) form, and your W9 form. EDI testing is also required for associated transactions. Approved gas marketers can also take part in our ESCO Referral program, known at Con Edison as PowerMove. To participate in the PowerMove program, submit our PowerMove Supplement to the Billing Services Agreement. For more information on the PowerMove program, click here.
