Saving Money by the Hour

Can your business shift some of its electric demand to non-peak hours? Want to take advantage of fluctuations in hourly wholesale pricing? Con Edison’s Day-Ahead Hourly Pricing (DAHP) Program can help your business save money by using more energy when hourly costs are low and less when they’re high. We’ll even provide the software to make it all possible, for free!

Benefits & Incentives

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Full-service Con Edison Business Customers are eligible
  • Automatic enrollment for customers whose peak electric demand exceeds 1500kW
  • Minimum commitment of one year
  • Participating customers must have a billing interval meter

Program Details

Electricity costs are always changing—costs are higher during hours of expected peak use and lower during non-peak hours. The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) anticipates changes in the supply and demand of electricity and issues hourly wholesale prices for the following day. Con Edison then alerts participating customers to these “day-ahead” prices. Dimming lobby lights or shutting down a few elevator banks during peak hours can save your company a bundle. And Con Edison’s free Demand Monitoring Software makes it easy.
