Con Edison Named a Top 60 Company by Hispanic Business Magazine

Con Edison ranks as one of the 60 best companies in Hispanic Business magazine’s Top 60 Diversity Elite 2009. The company was selected from among leading Fortune 500 firms, American subsidiaries of Global 500 companies, and large public and private organizations.

Hispanic Business magazine evaluates excellence in corporation board, leadership, and personnel; diversity recruitment; diversity retention and promotion; marketing and community outreach; and supplier diversity.

Earlier this year, LATINA Style magazine recognized Con Edison with an honorable mention on the publication’s 2009 Top 50 list, which highlights the best companies for Latinas to work for in the United States. In that survey the company was selected from among 1,000 companies for providing the best career opportunities for Hispanic women.

Con Edison Saluted for Supporting Military

Con Edison has been honored by Civilian Jobs.com as one of the Most Valuable Employers for Military 2009. The honor is based on surveys in which U.S-based employers outlined their 2009 recruiting, training, and retention plans that serve military service members and veterans.

Con Edison has a rich history of recruiting military service members, and approximately 200 company employees are listed as veterans or reservists.

“It is with a sincere sense of appreciation that I offer congratulations to the MVE award recipients,” said Sandra Morris, CEO of Bradley-Morris, Inc. (BMI), parent company of CivilianJobs.com. “Since 1991, we have observed companies that benefit from sourcing military-experienced talent in virtually every U.S. industry. Now, to be able to recognize the best of these employers is very rewarding.”
