If you are a Con Edison customer in our service area, you may install your own electric energy source for the purpose of supplying some, or all, of your own load. We will supply your remaining power requirements. In standby mode, you cannot sell power, unless your DG is qualified for emergency export. When the utility source has been interrupted, you cannot continue generating electricity for your own load, unless you are utilizing the Stand-alone option for standby service.
