![]() ![]() BILL STUB
The top portion of the bill should be returned with your payment. This return stub shows the account name and mailing address, the amount currently owed on your account, and the address to which your payment should be mailed. If you pay in person, please bring the entire bill with you. ACCOUNT INFORMATION
The bottom portion of the bill should be retained for your records. It shows your account number, next meter reading date, the address where service is provided and the telephone number for service and billing information. ENERGY USAGE FOR BILL PERIOD
Details about your electric or gas usage are in this section of the bill, including your service classification, the start and end dates and number of days in the billing period, and the meter readings for those dates. By subtracting the previous reading from the latest reading, the bill shows you the number of Kilowatt-hours (kWh) or hundred cubic feet of gas (Ccf) recorded on the meter. Some meters use a meter multiplier that multiplies the reading difference to determine actual billed usage. For gas customers, a therm factor is used to measure heat content and convert gas from Ccf feet to therms. ENERGY USAGE GRAPH
This bar graph shows your average daily use of electricity or gas in each of the past 13 months. If you have a demand meter, details on your demand registration will be provided in place of the energy usage graph. ENERGY CHARGES FOR BILL PERIOD
This section explains how the charges for electricity or gas are calculated. It shows the basic service charge. For gas customers, the basic service charge includes the first three therms of gas used. This section displays your current charges for the kilowatt-hours of electricity or therms of gas used during the billing period along with an adjustment factor or fuel adjustment charge, any local utility agency credit and applicable sales tax. The basic service charge covers costs for equipment maintenance, meter reading and billing. The basic service charge is billed whether or not you use any electricity or gas. BILLING SUMMARY
The billing summary box provides a quick reference to the status of your account by highlighting current charges, payments received, the balance remaining, adjustments and the total amount now due. "Adjustments" are explained at the bottom of your bill under Important Messages. MARKET SUPPLY PRICE AND DELIVERY COST INFORMATION
This area displays Market Supply Price and Delivery Bill Reduction information. Market Supply Price is the price Con Edison charges for supply service. This is the price to compare when considering purchases of electricity and gas from Energy Service Companies (ESCOs). IMPORTANT MESSAGES
Special information about your account or messages of general interest to customers will appear at the bottom of your bill. For example, it will advise you if the bill has been corrected, if payments are overdue, or if the bill is based on estimated usage.
