To open your Con Edison electric and gas account, call us at 1 800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633) 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Customer Service Representatives can set up your account over the telephone.

We have Customer Service Representatives who speak English and Spanish, and we will provide a translator for customers who need to communicate in another language.

Call us as soon as you know your new address. If we need a copy of your apartment lease or any other document, you can fax it to us. Our Customer Service Representative will give you the fax number when you call.

We might ask you to provide some form of identification. If that is not possible, we'll ask for a deposit.

If the electricity or gas is not already turned on at your new premises at the time of your call, it might take one business day to turn on the meter. We must be able to enter the premises to turn on gas service.
